I'm very new to gold collecting, but caught the "bug" on my first sluicing attempt at Thermal City. Due to disabilities I won't often get out, but may take 1 to 3 trips to Thermal city per year. I've seen the inexpensive ($700) Jobe high banker but was wondering about the motor/pump and the Yellow Jacket sluice.
Questions???
1. Is this motor/pump sufficeint to handle just power sluicing?- no dredging.
2. How well does the Yellow Jacket sluice work?

I was thinking about getting the Keene A52 to start, then adding the components as my funds allow.
Without the motor/pump the cost of stand, extension, etc(with the A52) would be about $500.00 or so
I may only use the sluice and bring some gravel/sand home but then could use an electric pump.
I live in Charleston,SC

Any Advice would be appreciated

IMOP if you want a recirculation system one that runs off a bilge pump I would go with http://www.goldcube.net/ it cost less then the equipment you’re asking about and works better

NC he is looking for a highbanker wondering what system is worth the cash, and yes the jobe is for under 1,000.but you need to add a punch plate, and a damper one more thing I believe to make it more efficient to grasp all the gold possible, and replace the v-mat on the sluice it comes with with the same length or mircle mat and you have a great system for under 1,000 bucks ( which shay sells it all).

Or buy the yellow jacket sluice which is the same box thats comes with the highbanker ( but still replace the v-mat with miracle mat from keene, ( that mat after seeing it work its magic a few weekends ago it worth the 9.00 and change per inch!!

I would still go with the cube over a high banker if the gold I was getting was mostly 30-mesh. Or a drop riffle high banker. The way I read it is he or she is looking to use it at home too if that is the case and you want the best of both worlds I would get a YEA old long tom from http://www.angusmackirk.com/product_pages/sluices.html for $249 and ( I think shay has them to) has a header box and can be used in the creek. As far as the a52 it’s a good sluice but I don’t like Hungarian riffles too much turbulence for fine gold now as far as the yellow jacket never used one but all sluice catch gold some are just better then others I personally like mackirk sluices the best for fine gold

a yellow jacket is just another hungariun riffle sluice...

got the bigger one and the smaller one. has miners moss, expanded metal, hungariun riffles. exact same design basically as an a52

seems that hungariun sluices work alot better for 'big gold areas'

angus mackirk and drop riffle type sluices work very very well for the type/size gold here in the east.

I basically just repeated what you said john lol(ncgold)

me <----brain is farting

Thanks for the replies folks.
I've just about made up my mind. I think I'll go with the A52 and the power sluice adapter. That way I'll be able to run it at home with either a 12V. marine bilge pump or a 110 submersible pump. I'm also considering getting get the extensions needed to turn it into a high banker. Hopefully the power sluice adapter will fit this extension which will give me more length to which I can add more gold trapping matter. Not sure what type to get, but could go with miners moss, deep V, or some of the miracle mat, et all. Even if the power sluice adapter won't fit the sluice extension, I'll have it in case I ever want to build a gas powered high banker.
I may get one of the smaller Angus M sluices. I do a bit of wild mushroom hunting in areas that have been known to produce gold in the past. I may use it there, or to run material I've already run thru the A52 at home to see if or how much fine gold it may have missed.
