I found this quartz rock while i was hauling manure in a field today and picked it up because it looked interesting. I have looked all over but can not find any info on this thing. if someone could tell me what kind of quartz rock it is that would be great. The green stuff is moss as for the rest i do not know. lol |

Its just iron stained vein quartz or possibly weathered pyrite in quartz . It might have some trace gold in it. I always look for the red in those when picking good ones to crush. The redder the better! But dark brown lines are usually good too. Crush that bad boy up and see whats in it! |

I have a bunch of rocks that look like that. They are usually round on the outside like an egg. I find them below the gold bearing areas near the sandhills. Usually in the area where kaolin and yellow and orange clay are. |
