Hi everyone , I have been prospecting for a couple of years now and I have the fever. Charlotte has a lot of gold history from being the location of the first gold rush in the us before Cali . Have found very small flakes in A section of mcalpine creek , there were 3 old gold mines within 2 miles of each other in that area. Want to check sugar creek and long creek also. I have a 3 ft sluice box that I made out of sheet PVC and aluminum , 2 pans , a 1/4 classifier and shovels. Looking for other prospectors that want to get out and check the creeks. Thanks for reading and thank you GPOC for a place to talk and learn about the yellow metal we all love.

The two times I have gone have been behind a buddy's house that backs up right to the creek. There is a nice sand bar and a few big boulders .worked both areas found a few small flakes. There are a few areas up the creek I would like to look but they are on the green way near the park and I don't think they would allow that on the green way.
