I just noticed this thread had no post LOL I'm VERY new to prospecting. I'm in Texas. I got my panning set and sluice even though I know there isn't much color here. I figure I can get in some practice before I go visit my brother in Colorado. I've joined a couple of different forum sites and look forward to learning all I can from all of you. Thanks and Good hunting |

Welcome to the forum!
Where in Texas are you located? I'm in Texas too. Bryan-College Station to be exact. Not much gold around here. I go to Llano to pan and sluice.
Good luck to you! |

I'm in Gainesville. About an hour north of Dallas. I've been thinking about going to Llano but it's a bit of a drive LOL |

If I'm not mistaken there is a North Texas GPAA chapter. It may be in Wichita Falls. I have a buddy from gainsville. He lives down here now and goes prospecting with me when ever I go. I have heard there is gold around possum kingdom lake. That's a little closer than Llano. Maybe check that out and let me know if you find anything. I have been wanting to make a trip up there, but Llano is closer for me and a guarantee for a small bit of gold. |
