Just got on this website and its got a lot of good info! I'm a newbie to thisso still learning the in and outs. Does anyone here ever pan around the midlands? I've read info on Ridgeway, Fairfield and of course Kershaw County.

Jim,

you ever tried any panning around the broad or Saluda river? or a waste of time?

I have not. I do fly fish above the Corley mill road landing on the Saluda river. There is a lot of exposed bedrock, and I always thought it looked good. The lake murray dam has been in place since the late 1920's. It is possible gold might have made it that far before the dam was constructed.

Yea I live only a few miles from the dam on the Irmo side, know exactly where you're talking about off Corley Mill.
