Thanks Matt and everyone else. I come from a world of Motorcycle racing and construction... So basically I have to modify anything I get my hands on. I modified that trommel to have in field adjust ability on the fly. I also made it where it could take in more water. after this weekends test I can tell I am close but need more. Im going to add another spray bar this week. I also plan on adding a adjustable sluice and crash box.
Now I know location is everything and we dont really give those out but i have 0 intrest in rubies... Maybe its a lack of knowledge or understanding but if I can help someone out great. We did some prspevting the day before up in linconville nc. no gold but we did find rubies. apparently the trommel spits them out the heavy end. I mean ALOT of them. I was pitching the little red glass like stones till trish stopped me. looking closer at them I realized i was pitching rubies... they are only about a 1/8th inch big but there were hundreds of them. {that number based on the trommel kicking them out... so about 200 per 20 cubic yards. Im no gemologist, I know about enough to watch a tv show. So if some gemologist want to go track the lode down have at it. best wishes to you.
My inventory.
1 toy hauler RV
1 5inch dredge
1 reverse helix trommel
3 river sluices 1 custom made by me for SC gold
1 water table. no not the 25k one the little crappy one for 240
1 gold wheel
all clasifiers and more pans than any one man should own.
looking to make some more trips up with some like minded people. |

Could have been garnets or even monazite. |
