Greetings from Gwinnett County Georgia. My name is Bill but I'll answer to Zing too.
I'm 60 years old and still with my first wife since 1978. I love prospecting and digging for the fun of it.
This is my third year looking for color. I run a stream sluice or a highbanker depending on the spot.
All I need to complete my dredge is a flotation system and the crashbox completed. I might finish it this month if I get lucky and find the time.
I have the water pump, sluice box all the hoses and a 2 inch nozzel> I also have a 3 " venturi pipe with an inch and a half feed line to it, so it should develop a good bit of suction.
I also like to collect antique and classic cameras. My favorites being the old wooden view type cameras with the bellows. You know the type where it's on a tripod and the photographer would have to pull the black drape over his head !
One of my sons and I share a 1972 plymouth satellite with a 400 ci engine.
This engine is a bit radical for the street so we're pulling it out in a couple of weeks and then build a fresh engine without such a crazy cam in it. It's great but not really suited for the long distance rod runs we want to go on.
I'm looking forward to meeting fellow prospectors here and I hope to see a lot of folks in the creeks looking for gold too!

Thanks for the kind welcomes.
Hey old man River, I get up your way about once a week. My sons run the emission inspection place on Hickory Flat rd next to the Brewsters ice cream. So I pop in once in a while.
I've thought about prospecting around there but the creeks appear to be on private property.
Have you been to the weekend gold miners leases? Theres one in Dawsonville and one near Dahlonega. |

I live down the road from Brewsters. I haven't found much on the east side of 575. Believe me I've look a lot. Unless you go more north toward Hwy 20.
I have my best luck over by the lake. Never been to the place in Dawsonville.
