I was putting some new super magnets on the shelf in the showroom this after noon and the next thing I knew it dragged a rock to it from 3" way. I have had this rock for about three years now and the only reason I have held on to it was because it was heavy and super smooth. What is it?

My guess is fluvial lodestone or magnetite. If you take it to a local college they might be able to XRD it and tell you whats in there.

Whats the streak? It should be black for magnetite.
