This is a Boulder Opal for the Wife I got out of Australia. I have been working on this cab for few months off an on to bring out the ribbons of opal. I just put in this setting for her.

This is the definetion of a boulder opal:
precious opal found in ironstone boulders (iron stained sandstone). Scientifically speaking, opals are:
"Tightly packed, regular rows of amorphous silicates (Hydrated Silica (SiOH2o)) that are 5 to 10% water, cut and polished to reflect diffracted light back to the eye."
