Fool Proof Production Pan

Shay,

Have you tested the Angus MacKirk "Fool Proof Production Pan"?
Looks interesting and this product is not as bulky as the Pyramid Pro Pan. It also has a "Large Surface" bottom where you can place it almost anywhere verses a cone shape.

I also have been looking at that..

knowing AM products...I bet it works pretty good.

atleast its not $100...but its close enough lol.

yeah, still alittle pricey for a pan(even though its a very fast production pan). Probably works pretty good.

anyone got any experience with it?

yeah on the pyramid pan you need alot of water....

I actually have this pan and took it out recently. I told Angus I would put up a video on it as soon as I get a chance. I also have 2 of his clean-up or "finishing pans".

Just an FYI for now.. It's a nice pan that can really move the material quickly. Once you figure it out it catches all the gold even tiny stuff. I set up a controlled test to see for myself then used it on my 3rd and 4th outing for a total of 5-6 days.

It is heavy but you sink it under the water 1-2" so it's nothing when compared to a regular pan full of material and holds almost twice as much.

Hope that gives anyone a little insight and my videos should clarify the rest. I'll try to post them within the next week.

huh, I saw a YouTube clip a while back where a teen basically made something just like this with a can attached to a funnel pan via a screw. exact same idea. the overall pan shape is like the pans used by the Indians in South America, but square instead of round and with a threaded cleanup nipple. the native pan is like a Chinese cone shaped hat with a nipple at the center. holds a tone of material and you keep adding to it, upgrading the cons in the nipple. the lightest stuff sloshes off the sides immediately and slope drives the heavy cons to the center where they are captured by the nipple. since this pan is used almost horizontal the cons can’t escape the nipple.
