Decided to take the day off from prospecting and go find some pretty rocks. These are from a location in South Carolina. I ended up with a 5 gallon bucket full of stuff and am in the process of getting everything cleaned up. Here are a few pics of some of the pieces that I have cleaned.

Very nice, I have seen some pretty amethyst from that same location as well. Thanks for sharing!

Yeah the amethyst eluded me this time. This was from Diamond Hill in Antreville. Same location that you were referring to?

Yup, the iron + manganese stains are a dead giveaway for that locality.

I thought that was from the Diamond Hill in Antreville too. Great crystals.
That is only about 13 miles from where I live. To bad you could have searched for gold here too...lol Also a little note to anyone gold has been found there as well. So if ya go and find alot of clay dry or mud packed on the crytals take it home and wash it out in a saty pan then pan it out. I had a few friend found small gold in the packed clay. Great pictures.

The owner Brian gave me permission to check the creek there for gold. He said that a few people have panned in it but have not found anything.

I plan on going back in a couple of weeks. I have to check their calendar cause they are not open to the public all of the time. Anyone who is interested let me know.

Did ya ask the name of the creek?
Thanks

I didn't get a chance to look at it or find out the name. I know that it is on the same property as the mine. I washed all of my crystals in a gold pan in my kitchen sink so I still have all of the dirt that come off of them. I have a 14" pan about half full of dirt. I think I will pan this out just to see what's there.

That would be interesting if you find color in there.

I have crystals from there as well. As I said I had friends that went there and kept the mud packed on them for better protection and transportation and as they were washing out and off the mud they found some small gold. They showed me but a little late...lol I washed mine in the back yard with a hose...lol
We went right after a few days of rain and it was muddy and cold that I can remember. I'll try and post some pictures of the few I have. I gave some away but still have some here. It was fun and a great time.
