Just curious, I got a good collections of gemstones I wouldnt mind cutting but Im sure it would cost me a small fortune to have someone cut them for me. Question is how hard is it to learn how to do and how much would the equipment cost? Also if anyone on here does it how much would they charge?

It is a skill..that is for sure. I know a guy who went to school to do that(cut gems). I can ask him if you would like.

It can get be pretty damn pricey..(the equipment)

Pete, I have wondered the same thing. I save the rocks for my daughter. She tumbles the, and we have spoke about cutting some of them.Just curious really, but will probably be something else to spend my money on. Here are a few links you can check out.

Look here to see a faceting machine and what it costs. There are additional costs to make it work.

Faceting is very expensive to get into and even harder to find markets for your stones.

There are a lot of U tube video's to check out if your serious.
