I have the 'Foreman' autrap sluice. I like it alot, it can handle half" material all day but I usually go to 1/4". It performs like the largest AUtrap or 'Boss' but does not require as much flow, etc. I love the Explorer alot but this sluice is darn good!

Easy to set up, ya wanna run about 1 1/2" to 2" of water(that is also according to the instructions for the sluice) and be able to have a 1" rock move down the sluice and a steady medium pace.

Instructions say ya dont have to classify(for gravel material, clay is going to require classification) on it but recommends doing a half". Personally, I would not want to run any non classified material. I gave 'bank' running a try on it and that would work good if not for rocks over 1"...anything bigger and its blowing material out of the box. I would say just from my using it that it can handle abit more than medium production rates. Especially if classifying to 1/4" or smaller. With a standard scoop ya can feed it as fast as you can scoop it in. Overall, I give it an A. I am Far from an expert but I thought I would share..heres a pic.(that is 1/4" classified material)

Nice man.

If you put some 1/4 inch punch plate about 1 inch over the top of the riffles, you can bank run it all day long. You dont have to buy punch plate either, you can make some. My new video (Episode 3) I will be uploading soon shows my punch plate drop riffle sluice working and it works great!

As to how to attach the punch plate, well thats up to you. I just used screws for mine, but I imagine you could just plastic glue or epoxy in some corners for it to rest on. Of course the weird shape of that sluice might make it a little tricky but you would just have to measure it out to fit. Wouldnt be hard at all. Oh and one last thing, you do want to put window screen between the punch plate and the sluice otherwise wood and debris can wash in there and clog it up ( yes it happened to me the other day with a stick, no it wont happen again!)

Hmm, that is a good idear about the punch plate. Only one thing(and it may seem stupid lol), I wish the slick plate was alittle longer. I guess I could just put punch plate from the slick plate to right before the rock bridge? Thats what is alittle confusing about it, the sluice requires atleast 1half" of water to run good and the sluice is 3" deep. So how far would you run the punch plate to?(I hope you can make sense of what I just asked lol)
Thanks for the info and help, much appreciated.
