Thought I'd share some of my past finds while out prospecting here in Laurens.Maybe someone could share some light as to what they are.

This is a rock I busted with a hammer(I know,STUPID) it was VERY HARD,grinder would only burn on it.It's actually a darker red in person

The pictures are not very good but they look like common iron stained quartz. You are in the right county for something much better though. Keep digging. Hint: This first specimens found in the US came from Laurens. Surprised

Well,that was in my head,especially having the 6 sides,but was unsure about the color.By the way,I think I watched all your vids again this morning Laughing You've certainally got me anxious to get back out again!Thanks

Give up? The first sapphires found in the US were found in Laurens, SC. Most are wormy but the nice ones are blue and or purple and make NC and Montana sapphires look like little bb's. Keep digging!
